by Sylene Argent --- Local youth pedaled into a safer summer thanks to a special bike rodeo held in the parking lot at the Essex Center Sports Complex on Saturday. The Essex Optimist Club hosted the event for youth aged 13 and under. OPP Community Policing Officer Constable Joe Meloche was on hand to help teach local youth the rules of the road for cyclists. The youth were able to ride their bikes through four obstacle courses during the event that tested their steering abilities and balance on their bikes.
