--- On Friday, February 19, council went over the 2010 preliminary budget for the second time.
Director of Finance and Administration/ Treasurer Donna Hunter said that in the first prepared budget, there was a $1.6 million dollar deficit. As council, Hunter, and CAO Wayne Miller went through the budget at the first budget meeting they reduced some of the on-going project sizes to minimize the deficit.
With amendments to the capital budget, the removal of the final lift on the St. James and Wellington road project from the 2010 budget will save the town $128,290. The final lift will be done in 2011....To read more download this week's issue.
